Route
Nice
Nice is the starting and finishing point of our trip. It is one of the most logistically convenient cities on the Cote d'Azur. We usually stay in a marina near the airport and there are direct flights from St. Petersburg and Moscow. Old Nice is a city of great importance for Russian history. In the middle of the 19th century, Nice was returned to the possession of France, before that it had been in the possession of Italy since the 14th century as part of the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia
The old town has a variety of museums. We also recommend a patriotic "must visit": Nice has the Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patron saint of sailors. And girls will love the fragrant flower market Cours Saleya. For lovers of art and culture, the choice is rich - the Matisse Museum, the Marc Chagall Museum, ancient Roman ruins. Nice is second only to Paris in the number of museums and galleries.
From Nice we can go right or left along the coast. The vector depends on the forecast or the wishes of the crew. We always try to take your wishes into account. The distances along the Cote d'Azur are not very large and with a great desire you can have time to see a lot, or take a more relaxed pace and spend more time at sea. Watching the shores, listening to the wind, feeling the salty spray and taming the sailing yacht so that it would take you to any place you dream of!
You can go to the magnificent Saint-Tropez and Cannes - the cinematic capitals of the French Riviera. Countless films that have gone down in world cinema history were shot here! Brigitte Bardot, Louis de Funes, Pierre Richard and many others walked along the streets of Saint-Tropez under the watchful eye of the camera. By the way, Brigitte Bardot has her own boutique, so you can take home a souvenir with the monogram of the great actress. Many sailing competitions are held here and one of the most iconic events - the Saint-Tropez Sails Regatta, gathers many sailboats from all over France and neighboring countries, especially bright - a large number of classic wooden yachts, with huge white couples blocking the horizon. An impressive view.
You can go to Monaco, one of the iconic and interesting destinations - of course, the popular casino and in general it is a Mecca for domestic and not only stars
Perhaps the least glamorous glitter (of course, compared to the rest of the Côte d'Azur) is in Toulon. Apart from the funicular, one of the main attractions here are the port bars. In one of them you can easily "hang out" in the evening, soak up the atmosphere of the sea romance of the 19th century and feel like an old salty sea wolf.
Small French towns on the coast - Menton, Villefranche. They most express the atmosphere of simple life and coziness on the coast. Colourful houses, flowers on the balconies, cute taverns with gastronomic art, wine cellars... You don't need to lure in the Cote de Azure, the reputation speaks for itself!
History of Nice
